Saleemah is a co-founder of Aidha, a school providing financial literacy and entrepreneurial education for migrants and co-founder of New Life Stories, a social enterprise providing mother-and-child program with an in-home reading program for families from disadvantaged background. Saleemah started her career in the private sector before moving on to the non-profit sector working with UN Women and UNDP. She is also board member of Casa Raudha, a shelter for women and children victims of family violence. She served on the board of the National Committee for UNIFEM Singapore for over ten years where she has held positions of President and Vice President. She was Co-chair of its Anti-Trafficking Committee from 2003 to 2012. She has also served on the board of Singapore Council of Women Organisations.
