Abdul Hamid works as a an auditor in the public sector. An active volunteer, he has served as a trustee in TAA Trust Fund (from 2006 to 2012) and as a committee member in Casa Raudha Women Home (from 2008 to 2016). He has also been involved in various volunteer capacities in the Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) since its establishment in 1991 and is currently Chairman of AMP Board of Director.
